Contracts Manager

We are a full-fibre broadband provider with £250m of investment. We are rolling out a 10Gbps FTTP networks and have a plan to cover a total of 250,000 premises bringing truly exceptional connectivity services to homes and businesses in the South of England. Responsible for:

  • Writing, evaluating, negotiating and executing various contracts covering a range of transactions relating to construction

  • Manage the performance of contractors in accordance with the relevant contract requirements and business operational needs, to ensure best value and services from suppliers is achieved in terms of cost, quality and productivity

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and communicating relevant contractual information as required Identify and implement opportunities/improvements for commercial efficiencies across operational activities and contracts

  • Provide contract-related issue resolution to any arising disputes or escalations with suppliers

  • Involved in complex contract negotiations and manages all changes in and addendums to existing contracts.

  • Identifies potential improvements to existing policies.

  • Ensure that all processes followed are in line with legislation and company policies and are auditable with key documents, information and communications confidentially stored

  • Prepares reports on the status of contracts for management

  • Complete contract close-out, reviewing contracts for extension or renewal, and assisting procurement teams where applicable for re-procurement

Core skills required:

  • Has knowledge of contract law and commercial regulations.

  • Experience and knowledge of Construction contracts (NEC3)

  • Been responsible for negotiating Constructions contracts

  • Extensive experience of preparing tenders  

  • Analysis of cost estimates

  • Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision

  • Deep understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language and the contract lifecycle

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understnegorand legal and financial implications

  • Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to identify key contract obligations and potential business / legal risks and devise and implement strategies for mitigating risks
