Health & Safety Manager

We are a full-fibre broadband provider with £250m of investment. We are rolling out a 10Gbps FTTP networks and have a plan to cover a total of 250,000 premises bringing truly exceptional connectivity services to homes and businesses in the South of England. Key Responsibilities/ Deliverables

  • Works collaboratively with contractors onsite and the internal stakeholders to define and implement a H&S strategy

  •  Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance in accordance to ISO45001, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments to continue improving standards.

  • Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.

  • Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises and/or at project site locations.

  • Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry regulations.

  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.

  • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.

  • Provides technical support to project managers with regards to PIA, Civils and Installations

  • Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.

Key Skills

  • Extensive Health & Safety expertise, ideally ISPs, untilities and also construction industry considered

  • CDM 2015 experience

  • Proven experience of implementing H&S strategies, deliverables and policies

  • Excellent track record of working with stakeholders, minimising incidents, preventing accidents and proactively enforcing best H&S principles.

  • NEBOSH qualified

  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills

  • Multi-tasking ability

  • Communication, meeting, and presentation skills
