Internal Design Manager
To oversea and a manage the internal “mobile designers” to ensure the design outputs are delivered on time, to the right cost and quality. To manage the internal design teams and be a key leader
To support with our goal of 250k homes in the next five years.
Responsible for:

Line manage the existing in house designers
-
Manage existing designers and to ensure the set deliverables in the contracts are achieved.

Collaborative working with design houses, internal surveyors and internal design teams to validate designs and costs.

Implement the new Ghost Plan model for design internally.

Manage survey output from inhouse mobile designers
-
Manage the budget for towns and deliver cost effective designs ensuring high PIA usage.

To support and implement the roles, processes & procedures and support with automation development
-
To support initially with the design target of 80k homes by end of March 2021 and then roll onto 100k homes per year.

Work with third party providers to develop systems and automation tools that improve the efficiency of Swish’s design and integrate into other systems ithin the business

Establish methods of working with other internal teams as well as our civil contractors

Manage a robust process for the handover of data from Design to build and as built

Work with other stakeholders across Swish to ensure wider business objectives are met.
Core skills required:

Experience of working with design houses/planning contractors

People management experience

Experience of FTTP networks & processes
-
Understanding of different FTTP Network topologies

QGIS experience
-
Detailed knowledge of PIA product from Openreach

Project Management Experience

People management experience
